For this Appleton home we removed all of the backfilled soil where the patio was to be installed, and replaced it with four feet of crushed limestone.  The crushed stone was compacted in lifts with layers of geogrid between.  The cozy patio was framed in limestone outcroppings.  Glen-Gery sand molded brick pavers were used for the patio surface.
